Overview
The province of New Brunswick is in the eastern region of Canada. Located in the Maritimes between Quebec to the north and Nova Scotia to the east. Well known for its beautiful natural landscapes. The main two languages spoken in New Brunswick are English and French. The capital city of New Brunswick is Fredericton which lies by the St. John River. Residing in New Brunswick is more affordable than many of the other provinces in Canada.
Immigrants looking to live and work in New Brunswick can take advantage of some of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) the province offers under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP).

New Brunswick Express Entry Stream
This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry program, making it one of the fastest pathways for immigration to New Brunswick. You must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the Express Entry pathways: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and have a profile in the pool.
Eligibility requirements for this stream include:
· Have an Express Entry profile.
· Language Proficiency (CLB 7 for FSWP and CEC, CLB 4 for FSTP.
· Education Requirements: Meet minimum requirements for the Express Entry pathway.
· Work Experience: 1 year for FSWP and CEC, FSTP at least 2 years.
· Need to show enough finances to successfully settle in New Brunswick (there are some exceptions, for example if you have a job offer).
Furthermore, you need to show a connection to the province of New Brunswick through Employment Connection, Student Connection or Priorities Connection.
New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream
The New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream targets French-speaking foreign nationals who possess the education, skills and work experience to make a positive impact on New Brunswick’s economy.
Eligibility requirements for this stream include:
· Minimum age of 19 years old.
· Language Proficiency: minimum score of CLB 5 in French.
· Intention to reside in New Brunswick.
· Minimum education of Canadian high school diploma, or equivalent (ECA).
· Show enough settlement funds.
· Show ties to New Brunswick through either a job offer, in-person exploratory visit, or have been invited to the province through New Brunswick Priorities.
If you meet all the eligibility criteria above, you should submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and your profile will be assessed against a points-based system.
New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot Program
The New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot Program aims to attract international graduates who have the education, skills and work experience to make a positive impact on the economy in New Brunswick. It is intended to provide a permanent residence (PR) pathway to graduates of a one- or two-year program of study leading to careers in priority occupations. Those occupations include Health, IT and Cybersecurity, Education and Social Development, Business Administration, and in Supply Chain and Logistics. This pilot program is accessible for those that graduated from specific career colleges in New Brunswick that are not eligible for the federal Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.
Eligibility requirements for this stream include:
· Must have graduated from an eligible private career college.
· Job offer required and employer needs to be eligible.
· Age Requirement: between 19 to 55 years of age.
· Language Proficiency: minimum CLB 5 in English or French.
· Work experience: Not required.
· Genuine intention to reside in New Brunswick.
New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream
The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream aims to attract foreign nationals that have the education, skills and work experience to make a positive impact on the New Brunswick economy. Applicants must have a genuine intention to live and work in the province permanently.
Eligibility requirements for this stream include:
· Job offer: Required (full-time, year round non-seasonal job in an eligible occupation).
· Work Experience: one year of work experience in the past 5 years (related to occupation)
· Age: between 19-55 years of age.
· Language Requirement: minimum CLB 4 in English or French.
· Education: Minimum Canadian high school diploma or foreign equivalent (ECA required).
If you meet all the eligibility criteria above, after submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI), your application will be assessed against a points-based system.
New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot
The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot aims to address labour shortages in a variety of sectors in New Brunswick. It is an employer-driven stream. Employers recruit candidates and submit applications on their behalf. Candidates cannot apply directly, an employer is required.

· McCain Foods, Ltd.
· Cooke Aquaculture
Eligibility requirements for candidates includes:
· Age: Between 19-55 years old.
· Intention to reside in New Brunswick.
· Job offer from eligible employer.
· Minimum CLB 4 in English or French.
· Minimum Canadian high school diploma, or foreign equivalent (ECA required).
· Work Experience: one year of work experience in the last five years in a NOC related to job offer.
New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream
The New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream is intended to boost New Brunswick’s economy by attracting experienced entrepreneurs who intent on establishing, operating, and actively managing a business in New Brunswick. Applicants must intend on living and settling in New Brunswick permanently.
Eligibility requirements for this stream include:
· Business must contribute economically to the province.
· Invest a minimum of $150.000 before tax.
· Have control of at least 33.3% of equity in the business.
· Create at least one full-time job for a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen in New Brunswick.
· Ensure the business pays taxes and complies with all legislation.
· Actively manage the business.
· Business cannot fall under the list of ineligible businesses under this stream.
· Pass a net-worth verification report by an approved net-worth verifier.
· Must reside in New Brunswick for at least 75% of the time of your Business Establishment Period.
· Must reside within 100 km of place of business.
· It is suggested to do an exploratory visit of New Brunswick for a minimum of 5 days.
