What is the Provincial Nominee Program?
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) opens pathways to Canadian permanent residency for students, skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and investors. Each provincial authority has the powers to nominate candidates who can help meet the provinces economic needs and priorities. Each province is given control to create its own streams and specific criteria that tailors to attract people that can contribute towards local economies.
In some cases, candidates can register an expression of interest (EOI) directly on the provinces portal or show interest to the province through the candidates Express Entry profile. If a candidate is nominated by the province, they can use the nomination to apply for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In some cases, provincial support letters can be provided for work permits as well.
